Shiela's Sanctuary is a housing provider operating in single family homes throughout Boulder County.
Our mission is to provide safe and affordable housing to individuals and families who are looking for a fresh start. We've been called "conscious housing" becuase of our clear intention to help people stay sober. We offer a range of options, from shared living spaces to private rooms. Our social service partners provide funding, services and supervision.
All of our homes are alcohol and drug free. We strive to create an environment of support and understanding where people can make meaningful connections, get support and build community. As Johann Hari says in his TED Talk "connection is the opposite of addiction." We are here to provide a safe and secure place for you to call home so you can relax into connection and community.

By placing people in a family like environment, they build relationships in their home and have much higher success at leading an independent, sober and healthy life. Often for the first time ever, there is stability. The result is a paradigm shift that changes the trajectory of an individual's life story.

Shiela's Sanctuary is a registered 501(c)(3). We offer housing to men in recovery from substance use disorder, the justice-involved, veterans and kids aging out of foster care. All of our homes allow Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT). We have house rules that include non violence, obtain employment and abide by curfew to maintain a safe and successful environment for all.
Did you know Medicaid covers residential substance use disorder (SUD) treatment? Help is available for all. Medicaid benefits in Colorado are awarded at the time of application for those who qualify.
